Poster Session Proposals

Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all fabulous CARL members!

CARL’s 12th biennial conference is right around the corner on April 2-5, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine. The theme for this year is "Going Global: Academic Libraries in the Age of Globalization."

Poster sessions schedule is as follows:

  • Viewing w/ presenters Friday, April 4 from 7:30 - 10:30 am.
  • Viewing w/ presenters Sat., April 5 from 8 - 10 am.
  • Viewing w/o presenters Sat., April 5 from 10 am - 3:30 pm.

    The CARL Conference Poster Session Committee invites proposals from all CARL members and interest groups. Collaboration with or among CARL Interest Groups is highly encouraged.

    Poster Session Guidelines

    All poster session proposals will be peer-reviewed. The Poster Session Committee may choose to conditionally accept proposals pending responses to suggested revisions and collaborations by the committee. Proposals should contain the following information:

  • Main Contact Person: name, email address, mail address, telephone number
  • Presenter(s): name, institution, email address, mail address, telephone number
  • Indication of affiliation/collaboration with Interest Group(s)
  • Designate whether poster session
  • Working title of poster session
  • Abstract of poster (150-250 words)
  • Overall fit within the conference theme
  • Your target audience
  • Expected learning outcomes
  • Potential interest to CARL attendees

    Proposals are due by Wednesday November 21, 2007. Notification of accepted proposals will begin December 7, 2007.

    Please send proposals via electronic mail to Angela Boyd (aboyd@library.ucsb.edu). In order to facilitate receipt of proposals/presented papers, in the SUBJECT LINE, please put: “CARL Poster Session Proposal.” Also, name your file in this way: Last name of main contact person in upper-case, space, and the words “poster proposal” in lower case. Example: Boyd poster proposal.
