Now accepting reservations for CARL Conference Tours! Spaces for these unique tour packages are limited, so please return the reservation form by Friday, April 7th.  Children, spouses, and other conference attendee guests are welcome.

Wine Tasting Tour / Coastal Sightseeing (Spaces still available!)

Thursday, April 20th 3:00pm-6:00pm

Join us for a combination of coastal sightseeing and wine tasting. We will leave Asilomar by bus to visit Chateau Julien Wine Estate for a private winery tour, vineyard walk and wine tasting of their excellent selection of Monterey County wines. We will then have a local sightseeing tour of 17 Mile Drive with stops to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Carmel-by-the-Sea Tour (CLOSED)

Saturday, April 22nd 2:00pm-6pm

We leave Asilomar by bus and drive to idyllic and historic Carmel-by-the-Sea. Surrounded by forest and a white-sand beach, this picturesque village with cobbled sidewalks and quaint cottages offers many art galleries, historical landmarks and shopping. You may explore the area with our small group, or make your own itinerary for the afternoon.

Limited tickets for a tour of poet Robinson Jeffers Tor House & Hawk Tower are available. Those touring Tor House will also be able to visit Carmel-by-the-Sea. For more information on Tor House, go to http://www.torhouse.org/

Monterey Bay Aquarium Tour (CLOSED)

Sunday, April 23rd  1:00pm-4:00pm

After lunch at Asilomar, we finish the conference with an exciting trip to the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. Located at Steinbeck’s Cannery Row and near Fisherman’s Wharf, this aquarium is recognized as the nation’s finest and one of the largest in the world. Over 600 species of marine life can be seen here, including penguins, sea otters, sharks and giant octopus. Visit the aquarium’s website at http://www.mbayaq.org/.

Transportation only, for those who want to explore Cannery Row and Fisherman’s Wharf: $15 each
