Take pictures of the snowy white egrets along the way.  Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Alvin Dockter is a recently retired Biology Teacher.  He is also a photographer and has been a Refuge volunteer, conducting nature hikes, for fifteen years.  Before joining Don Edwards, he worked as a Park Naturalist at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park.  He has contributed to many projects at the Refuge, including compiling the first Plant List, which will be made available to field trip attendees.

Chris Palmer is a Hydrogeologist Consultant, who also teaches classes in hydrogeology at UC Extension.  He will be conducting a leisurely and entertaining walking tour of the geology of the refuge, a unique estuary.  A handout will also be provided.
