The California Academic and Research Libraries (CARL), the state chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries, consists of academic librarians from community colleges, private colleges, the UCs and the CSUs. CARL's strength is the development of inexpensive, timely programs of interest to academic librarians, with a particular focus on new academic library developments in California. In addition to regional programs, CARL also conducts an annual statewide conference. This year's CARL annual conference theme is: Academic Libraries in Transition: Creating New Pathways, Preserving Enduring Values. It will be held September 19-20th, Jack London Square, Oakland.
CARL has a variety of interest groups and is currently establishing a Community College Interest Group. Help us develop the Interest Group to meet your needs.
