The conference was held at the beautiful Bahia Hotel in Mission Bay. Conference attendees enjoyed an evening reception aboard the William D. Evans Steamboat (cruise cancelled due to high winds).

Prominent local attractions were the San Diego Zoo and the Stephen Birch Aquarium. Other attractions are described on the San Diego Source Homepage and The Local Guy's Guide to San Diego.

1996 CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED:

Keynote Addresses Cerise Oberman, Esther Grassian, and Clifford Lynch will share their perspectives on the conference theme.

Breakout Sessions Four programs will represent the wide diversity of approaches to information competence and patron self-sufficiency.

Poster Session Colleagues who have developed innovative programs relating to the conference theme will showcase their efforts.
