5-6 PM: Informal dinner with Academy Library staff in the Goethe Room

6-9 PM: Open House

Science and Engineering Academic Librarians -- North invite you to spend an evening at the incredible California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Founded in 1853, the California Academy of Sciences is the oldest scientific institution in the West, and its natural history collections are utilized by scientists from around the world. You will have a chance to visit all of the Academy's exhibits, including the latest exhibit on venomous animals titled "Venoms: Striking Beauties". The Planetarium will be offering short sky tour programs, plus live outdoor planetary viewing. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Steinhart Aquarium, and visit the world-class collections of the Academy's eight research departments, including some of the rare book and archival collections of the Academy Library.

COST: For SEAL or CARL members: $5.00 for open house only; $10.00 for open house and informal dinner of pizza and salad with CAS library staff from 5-6 pm. For non-CARL members: $15.00 for open house only; $20.00 for open house and informal dinner.

PLEASE REGISTER by MAY 2. If you plan to have dinner and are a vegetarian, please indicate so on form below. If you are not going to have dinner, plan to meet your SEAL colleagues in the GOETHE ROOM at 6 PM. It is suggested you sign up early. There may be a limit on the number of participants.
