What: DIAL (Diversity in Academic Libraries) Summer Program
Program Title: PRESERVING MEMORIES: HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS / ETHNIC CLEANSINGS
Speakers:
An outstanding panel of scholars will discuss human rights violations and available resources in their respective areas:
Gia Aivazian, MLS, UCLA and Ph.D. candidate UCLA, Librarian for Armenian and Greek, UCLA, on the Armenian Genocide.
Jok Madut Jok, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of History, Loyola Marymount University and former fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars, on the conflict in the Sudan.
Olga Nikolic, Ph.D. candidate in International Politics at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College, London, on Genocide in the Balkans.
Geoffrey Robinson, Ph.D., Professor of History and Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at UCLA, on East Timor and Indonesia.
Judith Truelson, Ph.D., ISD Reference Coordinator/Head of Doheny Research Services, University of Southern California. She served as Co-Principal Investigator for the USC Information Services Division Shoah Foundation Access Mellon Grant Project.
