Job Summary

The Claremont Colleges Library (TCCL) is recruiting for an entry level Collections Management Librarian (CML) to support its dynamic, data-driven, user-centered approach to collection management. The CML coordinates selection and management of scholarly information resources in all formats and works collaboratively with staff across the library involved with acquisitions, collection development, and systems. As a member of the Library Assessment Team, the CML provides a collections perspective to TCCL’s cross-divisional assessment strategy and research agenda. TCCL has commenced a data-driven Active Print program, and the CML will be a key contributor in its implementation through data analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry level librarian to engage with evolving collections at the center of an innovative research, teaching, and learning environment.

Key Opportunities

  • Collaborates closely with library colleagues to revitalize workflows and best practices for a user-centered, active library collection
  • Participates in the creation of a virtual browse feature for discovery systems that support our Active Print program
  • Participates at the national level in professional associations and organizations that focus on library collections

Requirements include an MLIS from an ALA accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience and an expressed enthusiasm for collection development work.
