  • Work Schedule (Dates and Times): Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-6:30 pm (Some days and evenings, and/or weekends at either campus may be required).

Salary Rate: $21/hr.

Brief Job Description: This position will serve as subject liaison to the Nursing, Physical Therapy, Psychology, and Biological Sciences departments. Create online research guides in liaison subject areas and perform outreach to students and faculty. Provide research assistance to undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty across a wide variety of disciplines. Design and lead research skills instruction sessions to undergraduate and graduate students. Assist the Associate Director of Research and Instruction with departmental learning outcomes assessment, online learning projects, and LMS integrations. Collaborate with librarians and staff on special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required:
Master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association-accredited program

  • Familiarity with electronic health information resources and reference services
  • Experience with or strong desire to become proficient in the use of presentation technologies to design instructional support materials in multiple media formats
  • Strong user-focused public services orientation
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work collaboratively in a cross-trained team environment
  • Evidence of good judgment and organizational skills
  • Evidence of ability to meet university standards in librarianship, teaching, and research

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year relevant professional experience
  • Familiarity with the academic health center environment and the role of the library within it
  • Experience working with nursing faculty, students and/or clinicians
  • Professional experience in health science librarianship or nursing profession
  • Subject background in the health or life sciences, or in information technology
  • Experience in initiating creative and innovative information services programs
  • Experience with performing in-depth literature reviews including, but not limited to systematic reviews
  • Experience with LibGuides or other tools for developing online research guides
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging trends for instruction
