Research & Instruction Librarian, Irvine Valley College, Irvine, CA

Irvine Valley College is seeking an exceptional Research & Instruction Librarian to join our library team starting Fall 2019.   This is a 10-month, full-time tenure track faculty position. The closing date is March 4, 2019.

Summary of duties and responsibilities: Provide in-person and virtual reference instruction and information service to students, faculty, staff and the college community. Prepare, develop, and deliver instruction to students, faculty and staff in the use of information resources and technologies in various modalities (including individual, classroom, online, etc.). Prepares online and physical instructional materials, including handouts, videos and LibGuides. Develop and assess student learning outcomes for library services and instruction. Review and select print and electronic materials for library acquisition. Serve as a faculty liaison to assigned schools. Develop and participate in the library’s outreach services. Serve on college committees and participate in college‐wide governance. Maintain current knowledge in the subject‐matter area and in effective teaching/learning strategies; maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Assignment may include evening and/or weekend hours. Participate in general faculty functions in relation to the educational program, in‐service programs and professional development.
