Position Description

Provide reference assistance in person and online as well as teach course-integrated instruction and other library workshops. Serve as subject liaison for faculty and students in assigned college or department and manage collections for assigned area(s). Contribute to special projects in support of library wide and campus initiatives as assigned. Assist in teaching LIB 1500, the Library’s 3-unit credit-bearing course. This is a full time, temporary, non-tenure track position with a 12-month contract.

Salary: $57,888

Starting Date: January 6, 2020

Required Qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited graduate degree in Library/Information Science or equivalent degree
  • Experience in providing reference services in an academic, public, or corporate library
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at teaching information literacy skills and concepts in an academic library setting
  • Experience in creating webpages
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a culturally diverse and rapidly evolving academic environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in creating online instructional guides and tutorials
  • Collection management experience
  • Teaching experience
