This new role will lead the library’s high profile and strategic initiatives around distinctive collections in food, wine, and other beverages. The California Digital Library (CDL) Information Services Team is recruiting! The ideal candidate for our Information Services Analyst position possesses a passion for researching and solving problems, a commitment to excellence in customer service, a desire to provide assistance to users of digital library services, and a skill for tracking issues to resolution. A primary responsibility of the position is serving on the CDL Helpdesk, triaging and troubleshooting problems with CDL services and UC-licensed and open access resources. The Information Services Analyst provides support to the CDL program teams responsible for the development and ongoing management of UC Libraries’ digital library collections and services, and importantly, to the users of those services. The primary user base of CDL programs and services include UC faculty, students and library staff.

Part-time, in-person job available in Branner Earth Sciences Library & Map Collections, Stanford University, to support staff at the front desk and help with routine duties & various projects.  This will be for the 2021-2022 Academic year (September 2021 – June 2022) with the potential to continue through August 2022.

Duties may include:

Patron-facing tasks: patron status verification, circulation duties, and general reference

Library operations: shelving, shelf-reading, opening or closing the library

Library materials and map project work: bindery processing, stamping, writing call numbers on items, editing records in the circulation database, searching for copy cataloging

Location:
Branner Earth Sciences Library, 2nd floor of Mitchell Earth Sciences Building, 397 Panama Mall, Stanford University

Schedule:
19 hours per week, Mon-Fri
4 hrs on four days, 3 hrs on one day
10am-2pm, 11am-2pm (tentative)

Start date:  Mid to late September 2021.

Requirements:

Temporary Library Technician Positions, Foothill College, Los Altos Hill, CA

The Foothill College Library will be conducting a search for two permanent, full-time Library Technicians to start Winter quarter 2022. In the meantime, we are seeking two temporary employees to serve as library technicians on a temporary basis for the Fall quarter.

The temporary library technician positions will include, but not be limited to, the following duties: interface directly with students (in person, by phone, and online) to help locate/select/circulate library materials and navigate the library’s services; interpret and resolve questions and concerns regarding library policies and procedures, including liability for damaged or lost materials; implement processes to maintain collection of reserves material, including electronics; interface with faculty and division deans to identify and order instructional materials for library reserves; collaborate with library colleagues to determine and implement library policies and procedures; develop, write, communicate, and implement procedures for efficiencies in the circulation/reserves area; use the library’s computer- and web-based systems to maintain records and generate reports; and recruit, hire, train, and supervise student workers.
