2021 DIAL Outreach Event

DIAL Lib Tech Career Workshop for LBCC Students

In collaboration with the Library Technician Program at Long Beach City College, Long Beach CA, DIAL had a workshop question and answer session with the Lib Teach students.

Approximately 13 students and a number of LBCC Lib Tech faculty attended a Zoom session where DIAL members described their path to librarianship and students were able to ask questions about library careers. Special focus was given to discussion about BIPOC librarianship, costs of education and variations of career paths. All participants were invited to join DIAL.

This outreach event was a success and more collaboration between LBCC and DIAL was welcomed.
