The time has come again to elect a new Steering Committee! Want to be of service? Please consider nominating a colleague or yourself! DIAL-south's mission is to "Advocate equality and diversity, primarily for racial/ethnic communities but also other diverse populations within the library profession and academic libraries." This is achieved by hosting educational and social events throughout the year. The following positions are available; Co-Chair, Secretary, Historian, Communications Officer and Registrar. The Co-Chair position is a two year term of service and all other positions are one year. For a full description of the positions and responsibilities please view the Bylaws.

Nominations now extended until Friday October 9th, 2009.Please send an email to Chimene Tucker outgoing Co-Chair ctucker@library.ucsb.edu or Elnora Tayag elnora.tayag@csuchi.edu with the nominees name and email address by October 9th, 2009 The elections will take place during the fall meeting in October Friday October 23rd 2009. If you not able to attend the fall meeting you will be able to participate via teleconference or vote via email until October 21, 2009.

After the business meeting, please join us for a no host lunch at Tortillas Grill and Cantina on campus.
