Excellent Adventure: Going Native in Santa Barbara

SEAL-South invites you to join us on Saturday, April 12 (10 am – 3 pm) for a fun-filled “excellent adventure” visit to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, 1212 Mission Canyon Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93105.

Program:

10:00am - 12:30pm, Morning Program

  • Library overview and tour with Joan Ariel, Director of the Library
  • Presentation on SBBG Research programs, then and now with Dr. Robert Muller, Director of Research
  • Presentation on Herbarium and tour with Dr. Dieter Wilken, Vice President for Programs and Collections
  • Presentation on California Native Plants with Carol Bornstein, Director of Nursery Operations and Horticultural Outreach, co-author of California Native Plants for the Garden

12:30pm - 1:30pm, Lunch

1:30pm - 3:00pm, Garden Tours

Registration

You are encouraged to bring family members, partners, friends, and co-workers but space is limited! Registration form and payment are due by March 28th. No refunds given for cancellations after March 28th.

Registration fee: $25 - CARL member, $30 - Non-CARL member, & $20 - students.

Admission to the garden and lunch are included in the registration fee. Lunch will be provided by Panino. There is free but limited parking for cars and trucks; the parking lot cannot accommodate RV’s and trailers. Please consider carpooling.
